Fady Shwayya, translated as "Are you free for a bit?" is a podcast that discusses the journeys of recent medical graduates from Egyptian universities who've had interesting trajectories in the few years post-graduation. We discuss various topics, including the physician-scientist pathway, my experience in Okinawa, and various personal and social aspects of traveling and living in the U.S. Hosted by my dear friend, the talented Dr Mohamed Saleh, a clinical assistant professor of Medicine and an oncology hospitalist at the Ohio State University, James Cancer Center, Ohio.

An interview and informal discussion with two medical graduates who matched in the 2020 medical residency matching cycle in the U.S. Dr. Maha Elsebaie graduated from Ain Shams University School of Medicine in Cairo, Egypt in 2015 and is starting her residency in Internal Medicine at Cook County Hospitals in Chicago in July, 2020. Dr. Ahmad Elkashash graduated from Cairo University School of Medicine in Cairo, Egypt in 2015 and is starting his residency in Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Indiana University in Indianapolis. The interview/discussion is moderated by myself.

Talk: U.S. Research Opportunities (Arabic)

Presented online for the ABCDE event in Ahmed Maher Teaching Hospital on March 18th, 2018. This video presents an overview of research opportunities in the US for medical and para-medical graduates, including an overview of the process of applying for graduate school (Masters or PhD programs) as well as non-degree research opportunities like fellowships or informal research assistantships. ABCDE (American Board Certified Doctors for Egypt) is an NGO that brings together Egyptian physicians who are volunteering to enhance the academic, clinical, quality improvement and research aspects in Egypt.
